(missing in action)
That's how I feel I've been lately. It's been pretty hectic around here.... what else is new ?! What have I been up to you ask? Lets see....
Drapery for a client. The fabric is gorgeous. The combination is fantastic and works beautiful with the client's choice of bedding. We were both ecstatic about the outcome and the lucky, sweet baby girl now has a beautiful room and is much better than the dark blue towel the mom had up to block the sunlight.
Busy at my machine sewing Receiving Baby Sets and new to SilverLining Designs baby bibs. My new found obsession. I love making these. I am enjoying the whole process and these are only some of what's to come. I have so many ideas flying around in me head to make more. If I could only get the time to work on them.
At some point, I would like to get some more of the Receiving Baby Sets listed in my Etsy Shop. Right now I have one set (Cutie Pies) listed there.
Made with flannel and back with micro chenille, they are oh-so-soft. Others are made with fabulous white waffle cotton and backed with either terry or micro chenille and all are interlined with felt to make them super absorbent. Whichever one you choose, your child is going to look super stylish! Eventually, I am going to list some of these bibs in my Etsy shop. So stay tuned!
I love adding all the little details.
The last week or so has been a nightmare for me. My computer went haywire and was infected with spyware. I implore anyone that doesn't have protection.... GET IT! I had to find someone that could help me out and fix it. When I finally did, it ate up three days... yes, three days, people, of my valuable time! But I think it is fixed now and I think I have about 5 different protection programs on it now. I was panicking for a while there, though. This computer has everything on it. I mean e v e r y t h i n g! So now that it is fixed no one is allowed on it because you see, not only was this computer used for my business, but the rest of the family used it for their personal use. Well, not any more. They are stuck using the old decrepit laptop in the kitchen. We need to get a new one. Nothing fancy, but something with a little more memory and up to date. I have always just assumed on getting a windows laptop, but recently been open to looking at getting an apple. I have been told that they are more user friendly and excellent for children. However, a lot more expensive. Any thoughts on that?
So, lets see, what else. I have been booking craft shows and trade shows. This is a super busy time before the holiday season. Yes, I said it - holiday season. Before you know it it will be upon us. So I have been trying to work on my inventory. I want as much made as possible so I am not sewing at the last minute or inbetween shows. I have also been visiting clients to quote them on drapery treatments. Visiting suppliers, meeting new ones, getting fabric samples. Working on some custom work.... and oh yes, I have two kids and a husband.... so homework, housework, school meetings, babysitting nieces and nephews, laundry, meals, etc..... whew... I could go on and on but I won't bore you.
So I bet you can guess by now why I have been MIA and probably will be for the next little while. But don't worry...I will be back. Can't guarantee when, but I will.

The bibs are very darling. I love the waffle weave fabric. I don't recall ever seeing it at the fabric store before (only on robes and slippers).
It's hard to believe that the holidays are approaching! Yikes.
Those bibs are fantastic! My kids never had bibs that nice. What a treat!
Thank you both! The waffle weave fabric is great. It is 100% cotton and fantastic quality. Not like some of those cheap tea towels you find in stores. But a word to the wise. If you are buying the 100% cotton make sure you buy extra. When I washed it it shrunk about 6-8 inches. It is also a little difficult to work with. It is not the easiest fabric to square up.
I wish I was making this stuff when my girls where babies. I too never had beautiful bibs that you see around now. However, I did make a pajama set for my youngest and she loves them. They are really like spa pj's... just like the adult robes.
