I enjoyed my time off (which I didn't realize how much I needed til now) and liked the fact that I was able to spend alot of it with the children and also see family and friends. They are now back at school and after I dropped them off, it was lonely being here by myself, but I soon got over that and got right back into the swing of things. To start fresh with a revitalized outlook and eagar to start new.
I have to say, that this is probably going to be the first and last time I use costume sparkle stretch knit to make anything. Sweet Pea wanted a shrug and tank set and I happily obliged... that was until I started working with it. Not only did I not like it, I don't think my machine liked it either. Either that or I didn't set it correctly - but I am sure I did. I used a ball point needle. I have a stretch stitch on my machine that I used, but for some reason the thread continued to shred just before it went through the eye of the needle on the machine, causing the underside to bunch up with thread. Causing me to stop sewing, cut the thread lose, pull out the mess of spagetti, rethread the machine and start AGAIN! I can't believe how long it is taking me to make this simple little thing. However, I finally got it done and it looks very cute on. The only thing that I am not happy with is the sequin trim. It is a bit heavy for the fabric, so it doesn't sit as nicely as it should. Well, Sweet Pea is thrilled with it and that is all that really counts. I will chalk this up to a learning experience.
So, now that I got that finished with. Back to the grind. I have a few orders that I have to work on this week. I am still waiting for my b/o of fabrics to finish another order and then I can finally start working on some new things. Stay tuned.
