I can't think of a title...

I got a call late last week from a Mom who is going back to work the beginning of January and didn't have a girlie bag for her little girl to take to daycare. She told me she wanted a tote. Nothing too big, that could carry a change of clothes, shoes and maybe a diaper or two.

I had this in my stock and was simply going to provide her with it,

but decided it was too old looking for her and wanted something young and cute and easy for her to carry. So, I came up with this. I made the tag dangling from the backsack out of some white denim. I decorated the edges and embroidered the little girls name and phone number on it. I thought it was a good idea since it was going to be used at daycare. The fabric is very sweet - pink seersucker gingham embroidered butterflies on it. The Mom thought it was cute too and liked the idea of the name tag. She can always take it off if she uses it other than for daycare because it is just looped through the handles on the sack.

Other than that, I have taken a much needed break from my sewing machine. It has been nice to have a few days off and just relax and enjoy the down time, now that Christmas is over with, and be away from the Studio. It allows for the creative juices to flow again and make me want to get back at it with a fresh look at things.

It has been nice to relax with family and friends and get caught up on things that have otherwise taken a backseat lately.

New Years Eve is coming and it is an annual event to have a regular group of people over and just enjoy the evening with good food and drink. We prepare a surf and turf meal that is just to die for with a chocolate fruit fondue to blissfully end the meal.

As always, I can 't believe how Christmas came and went. All the preparing and rushing around...all to be over in the blink of an eye. Then, a few days later we are celebrating to bring in the New Year. Where did 2006 go? It just seemed to fly by. Remember how everyone was panicking when they thought the world was going to end when 2000 was coming? That just seems like a lifetime ago... doesn't it? Well, I look forward to 2007, even though it came so fast. I look forward to spending good times with family and friends. Making some great memories. Continuing to work on my business to make it better and to creating new things that people just can't seem to live without.

I have some great ideas flying around in my head that I hope to get working on soon. There are some great new prints that are out for spring and I can't wait to get at them.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year.
