I finally got some more colours done in the stroller blankets and I also figured out a faster easier way to cut them out. Which is great because I have been able to whip them up alot faster.
I then worked on some burp clothes. These are alot of fun to make. They are quick and yet creative because some of them have been patched together. They also use up alot of the small pieces of fabric I have. I think these would be just the greatest little gift to give someone with a baby. So useful.
Then, who wouldn't want one of these around their neck. Minky Dot/Dimple chenille scarves. So soft and cozy. I always slash the name because I can never decide which name I like best, Minky Dot or Dimple, so I put both. The brown scarf is called Warm Chocolate Brownie. This colour is so delicious, as I was making them I was getting very hungry.
Well, it doesn't stop here. I have a ton more sewing to complete. However, today is probably the most sewing I will get done in the next couple of days. Tomorrow I have to deliver and set everything up and Friday is the sale. After that, I have got to get going on a jean purse. It's my Mom's birthday next week and she has been wanting a jean purse for the longest while, so I want to have it done to give it to her on her birthday. Then after this sale on Friday, a have a bunch of craft sales that I have booked myself into. So if I sell a bunch of stuff on Friday, I will be sewing like a mad woman to replenish the stock.... hopefully anyway. Then there is Christmas shopping and birthdays that are coming up...ohmygosh I gotta go....
Oh I almost forgot. Last Friday I got a huge order for a Stroller Blanket, Birp Cloths and a 4pc Crib Set. Blanket, bumpers, initial pillow and skirt. I usually make the crib skirt a box pleat, but this client wanted it gathered. I hate gathers, only because I always seem to have so much trouble with them. On top of that she wanted it made out of the Minky Dot/Dimple chenille. I told her I would see what I could do because the chenille is thick to begin with and gathering it might not turn out so well. Anyone ever gather chenille? Any tips on gathering to make it easier? Any insight into this would be most helpful.
Also, I am in the market for a new iron. Anyone have a favourite or can recommend one? I want something with alot of steam and gets nice and hot. You sewers out there know there is nothing better than a wonderfully pressed seam.
...Now I really gotta go.
