So the third one happened. It wasn't me though. It was Sunshine. This morning Husband and the girls went out to watch their baby cousins swim lesson. I just got on the phone with my girlfriend when all this yelling started. Husband was yelling for Sunshine. I was wondering what the heck all the yelling was about and then I heard Sunshine yelling/crying for me and let me tell you, if you are a parent, you will know that it is the single most worst thing you can hear - your child screaming, crying in pain. It is gut wrenching.
She had got her fingers caught in the car door. Her sister didn't know she was coming out behind her and slammed the door shut. On top of that it locked as it shut. I didn't see it but my imagination makes me cringe everytime i think about it. Her sister was trying to pull the door open. Her father was on the other side trying to unlock it - all the while her poor fingers were caught in the door. It must have felt like an eternity .
We quickly put them under cold water and then ice. Fortunately, no fingers were broken and only a small purple dot on the middle finger were a blood vessel broke.
After all the commotion settled down I loudly announced that that was it! That was the third and final accident to happen. No more, I can't take it. Everyone be careful!

How Was your Week?
Hope everyone wore their apron yesterday for National Apron Day.
I haven't been posting regularly lately because I have been nursing wounds. It was a tough week last week. Last Sunday Sweetpea was in an accident. She was riding a motorized scooter, fell and broke her nose, scraped up her whole face, knee, arm, fingers... she was a mess. There is no worse feeling than seeing your child hurt. We ended up having to go to the hospital - she was throwing up and I knew that wasn't good. I also knew that she broke her nose before any professional told me so. When they say a mother knows... it's true, we do. After the x-rays and examination, they confirmed what I already knew, that in fact the nose was broken, the wrist was not and that she had a concussion. I felt sick to my stomach all night... my poor beautiful baby hurt, but she was a trooper. She was so brave. She is doing fine now. We kept a lot of ice on her nose for 2 1/2 days and polysporin on all the wounds, that is some good stuff. I applied that cream all week and as of today you would never know that she was hurt. The scabs just dried up and peeled off. Luckily, her nose didn't shift when she broke it and it is going to heal just fine.
After dealing with all that, hubby came home from work late last week and burned his whole right hand. I again had to put my nurse's cap on and look after his wounds. The next day he finally went to see the doctor, after much pleading with him (what is it with men and not seeing doctors?) The doctor confirmed that he had minor second degree burns. There isn't much you can do for that other than keep it clean once the blisters open. They are healing nicely now, but look so raw. Stressful week to say the least. I am just so glad that everyone is going to be OK.
Since all that happened, it caused me to get behind in my schedule... and it was going so smoothly too ... I should have known there was going to be a blip (i just wish it wasn't such a big blip). Anyway, I have been trying to catch up on all the things that I should have had done last week and this week and I am almost there. This is one of the things I have been working on - a custom Initial It purse. I have another one that I have to get done, however the client just wanted it plain with no initial. Easy enough.
