Show Time

I had a last minute show to do on Sunday. I found out about it late, but took a chance and contacted them to see if there were any spots open. Unfortunately, there wasn't, but the person that I talked to really liked my products and asked if she could put me on their cancellation list. I was disappointed that there was nothing available (I sorta had a good feeling about this one, although I have learned to take it as it comes as far as doing shows). I said sure, thinking that I wouldn't hear from her, but low and behold I did. At the beginning of the week she called and asked if I was able to do it. Luckily, there was enough in my inventory and the day was still open. Doing shows is tricky. You never know how you are going to do, what you are going to sell or what kind of crowd it is going to be. If it's the first time doing a particular show you never know where you are going to be placed or if you have a choice what the best spot is. So you do your best, try to ask the right questions and go with your gut. This Sunday turned out great. The crowd was good. They came to buy! It was a steady flow of people all day that wanted to shop, chat and just have a good time. It was a good group of vendors too. The location and space I had was great. I had so much room to display my wares and surrounded by glass windows so I could see outside all day. So much better than being stuck inside all day.

It was good to do a show that was positive and successful. I haven't had one of those for awhile and when you do it just makes you feel so much better about what you are doing.

Not only did I have a successful day, but now that Sweetpea is older she has been coming and helping me with the shows. It's been great having a second pair of hands. She really is a great helper and lucky me gets to spend the whole day with her!
